Academic: Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical Engineering or applicable equivalent training and education.
Experience: Requires three years minimum industrial maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility. Requires a proven record of leading, motivating and developing hourly employees. Team based management background preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing, implementing and managing high performance systems and teams required.
Qualifications: Requires administrative experience including budgeting, cost control, project management and capital planning. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel) required. Must have good communications skills, both oral and written. Must have strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work on several projects simultaneously; prioritize work for self and others; trouble-shoot problems and implement solutions. Must be able to work at heights up to 70 ft. above ground. Must be able to work in cold and warm temperatures extremes. Must be knowledgeable of predictive maintenance principles and techniques in order to lead those activities.
Job Functions: Plan and organize daily maintenance activities to meet the needs of the Plant Operation. Ensure that the Plant equipment is operating efficiently and maximizing production output. Lead process improvement initiatives. Monitor and review all required maintenance paperwork. Develop and administer procedures (CMMS, SOP's, SSOP's, HACCP and GMP's). Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, teams and hourly employees. Responsible for efficient and cost-effective operation of maintenance activities and maintenance budgets. Responsible for planning, administering and timely completion of the summer shutdown maintenance and rebuild program (CMMS). Assist department leaders in monitoring work in progress and schedule conformance. Generate input on new equipment purchases for the facility as well as any major modifications of existing equipment.
Additional Duties: Facilitate change. Instill and support safety program sand awareness. Encourage and give positive recognition. Evaluate team performance and provide feedback. Provide guidance to teams and set necessary priorities. Explain, interpret and enforce guidelines and policies to the teams. Provide training and career development guidance to team members. Provide leadership to production operators and maintenance mechanics. Must be capable of working on the production floor and walkimg up and down the lines throughout the shift. Maintain an operating environment that embraces continuous improvement processes achieved through team-based initiatives with particular focus applied to plant goals and scorecard measures. Also focus on continual improvement of staffing skill sets. Rotate weekend or holiday work assignments with other Plant Maintenance Supervisors and assume responsibility for entire maintenance effort during the weekend/holiday
Compensation: Salaried, based on experience
