Florida's Natural® Premium Brand Orange Juice... From Florida and Only Florida

Co-op of Florida Citrus Growers kicks off new campaign highlighting use of imported orange juice by other leading brands of premium orange juice

Lake Wales, FL: November 12, 2007 – Parents across America are paying closer attention to what their families eat and drink. So, they may be surprised to learn that even something as wholesome and American as not-from-concentrate orange juice is now being imported to your family’s breakfast table.

The co-op of citrus growers who produce Florida’s Natural brand premium not-from-concentrate orange juice today kicked off a new campaign to alert consumers that unlike other national brands, Florida’s Natural brand premium not-from-concentrate orange juice doesn’t contain any imported orange juice.

“Now more than ever, Americans want to know what they are feeding their families and where their food comes from,” said Walt Lincer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Florida’s Natural. “Florida’s Natural is the only major national brand of not-from-concentrate orange juice that uses only Florida orange juice.”

The Florida’s Natural campaign features television advertisements that question why other leading premium orange juice companies would use imported juices when America produces such fresh fruit. Viral videos, featured on Grower Dave’s blog www.orangediaries.com, ask Americans: “Know any use for an imported orange?” The videos showcase farmers from the citrus growers co-op using imported oranges in a number of unconventional ways, including: batting practice, pencil holders, earmuffs, kneepads and tetherball, while declaring, “Frankly, we wouldn’t even know what to do with an imported orange.”

Florida’s Natural brand premium not-from-concentrate orange juice is produced by a co-op of Florida citrus growers, which includes 12 grower associations, made up of over 1,000 growers and spanning across 50,000 acres of the “Sunshine State.”

“My family has been growing oranges in central Florida for four generations,” said Frank Hunt III, President of Hunt Brothers Cooperative. “Florida oranges are for orange juice. Imported oranges? Well, I guess I could use them to feed my cattle, but they’re certainly not going in my family’s juice glasses.”
