As growers we’re aware of our responsibility to take care of the land that’s been so good to us. We reduce our waste by using nearly every part of each orange in a wide variety of ways.

Every ounce of Florida’s Natural citrus is useful. By-products of citrus are used in products in many categories.
  • Citrus is a significant part of slushes, marmalades, molasses, syrup, candies, and jellied products.
  • Oils, refined from the remaining pulp and peel, are a base for food flavorings, perfume soap, alcohol, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, rubber, textiles, confectionaries, and ice cream.
  • Tons of peel, pulp, and seeds are also converted into feed for cattle. Dried citrus pulp, which was introduced in 1925, is an excellent food for milk cows.
