Here are some insider tips to help you plan the Florida holiday vacation of your dreams!
Nearby Can Be a Great Buy
Orlando is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the United States. It's not hard to understand why, given its mild weather, fine dining, special holiday events at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando, and other unique family-friendly activities.
One of the best ways to experience the holidays in Orlando and save on accommodations is by staying just outside the metro area. Your options include nearby Kissimmee and St. Cloud or, to the north, historic Winter Garden and Winter Park. These areas offer easy access to Orlando, a variety of motels, hotels, and small inns as well as special holiday events of their own. Those events may include lighted boat parades, concerts, and holiday strolls.
Flexibility Can Pay Off
Not surprisingly, if you have some flexibility in your travel dates, you may be able to save on airfare and hotels. Avoiding the most popular departure and return dates before and after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve will save money and headaches.
Most of the special holiday happenings in the Orlando area, including those at the various theme parks, are open from early December into early January. So, you won't be missing out by switching your holiday vacation dates to less costly and less crowded ones.
